Roulette is a game of chance where players bet on numbers that appear on a wheel. You can place bets until the croupier says no more bets are allowed.
Many betting systems claim to beat the odds of roulette, but the game remains a game of chance. The Lemons & Sevens guide to roulette will cover all the rules and bet types you need to know.
Origin
roullete is a game of chance where a ball rolls around a spinning roulette wheel, landing in one of the 38 (or 37 on modern European/Latin American tables) divisions on the table. People place bets on what number the ball will land in by laying down chips on the table. The history of the game is somewhat murky, but it’s believed to have originated in France in the 17th century. Some sources claim it was invented by Blaise Pascal as part of his quest for a perpetual motion machine, while others suggest that it evolved from the French games hoca and portique and the Italian game Biribi. Regardless of its origin, roulette is a popular gambling game.
While there is no proof that roullete has an ancient history, some historians have pointed to Roman and Greek soldiers’ use of shields with symbols on them as a precursor to the modern roulette wheel.
